Therapists & Counselors

Cherl BradshawCheryl Bradshaw, MA, MFT #39675

Cheryl Bradshaw is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples, and specializes in working with trauma, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns and cross-cultural issues.  With over 20 years of training and experience in many different methods of therapy, Cheryl’s breadth of experience allows her to tailor her approach to the specific needs of the client.  She uses a psychodynamic and integrative approach, which can include the use of the arts in the therapy process, as well as body-centered psychotherapy.

Cheryl enjoys creating an safe and caring environment for her clients, which invites openness to self-exploration and discovery.  She nurtures self-awareness by encouraging a quiet sustained focus of attention inward.  With an emphasis on self-awareness, exploration, resourcing and experimentation, clients have the opportunity to heal.

Body centered psychotherapy can access unconscious material, gently and efficiently, so that beliefs, memories, habits and emotions can be explored and a clearer understanding of oneself is gained in the process.  An opportunity to experiment with new behavior and choices is inherent in BCT.

Carey CloydCarey Cloyd, MA, MFT #46162

Compassion and intuition characterize Carey’s style and she considers truth, the present moment, and the body as rich sources of information in therapeutic work. She is comfortable helping with a variety of subjects such as relationship problems, major life transitions, abuse, grief, sexuality and spirituality.

An essential component of her work is the recognition of the interrelationship between mind, body, and spirit. In the context of a supportive and collaborative relationship, she helps you examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Results of this process may include greater awareness, more confidence and resourcefulness, and an improved sense of vitality.

Nondual awareness infuses her work with clients, a perspective in which the split between self and other is recognized as a mental construct and possibilities for spaciousness and clarity unfold. EMDR, the Hakomi Method, and the inquiry process of Byron Katie are key components that she draws on when meeting with clients. Her work is also informed by a variety of practices, including daily meditation, as well as yoga, movement, and time in nature. Having completed training in bodywork and energywork, these modalities also influence her psychotherapy practice.

Jennifer CortrightJennifer Cortright, MFT #35324

Jennifer is a Marriage Family Therapist and has been working with individuals, couples, and teenagers in private practice for 20 years.

Jennifer’s primary emphasis is on facilitating a therapeutic relationship where vulnerable feelings can be safely expressed.  She believes that when every part of our experience is welcomed with warmth and curiosity, healing begins.

Emotional pain, when listened to with empathy, interest and acceptance, guides us into places within that are calling for attention and healing.

Jennifer’s professional training combines both psychodynamic and experiential psychotherapies. One emphasis of her work is to help people understand how the past is influencing their present experience. Another is to facilitate awareness of present experience through mindfulness and by listening to the wisdom of the body.

Symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction... can be understood as invitations from the psyche to explore our internal world with understanding and compassion. Psychotherapy provides a safe place for this internal exploration within a caring and respectful relationship.
